"Blossoms in the Dust" (1941) is a moving true drama starring Greer Garson as Edna Gladney, who devoted her life to founding an orphanage and working for children's aid in early 20th-century Texas. Walter Pidgeon, Marsha Hunt also star. Next, the heartfelt comedy "It Happened on 5th Avenue" (1947) stars Victor Moore as a New York City hobo who moves into the vacant mansion of a vacationing millionaire (Charlie Ruggles) and plays cupid for an ex-G.I. (Don DeFore) and Ruggles' daughter (Gale Storm). With Ann Harding, Alan Hale, Jr. A widowed mother's (Janet Leigh) attempt to purchase the train set her son wants for Christmas brings her to the attention of a store clerk (Robert Mitchum), in the Yuletide-flavored romance "Holiday Affair" (1949). Wendell Corey, Henry Morgan co-star. And, the fact-based tearjerker "All Mine to Give" (1957) is set in the 1850s and follows a family from Scotland to Wisconsin where a heartbreaking tragedy forces the 12-year-old eldest son to take charge of their destiny.
