Producer Hal Roach's romantic comedy "Fiesta" (1941) stirs up South-of-the-Border shenanigans as a young woman (Ann Ayars) returns to her family's Mexico ranch engaged to someone other than the man she's supposed to marry. With Jorge Negrete, Antonio Moreno, and The Guadalajara Trio. The short films collected in "Soundies Cavalcade" (1945) and "Soundies Festival" (1945) feature appearances by Dusty Fletcher, Eddie Green, Lena Horne, and Ethel Waters. Fabulous performers are captured in the act in this vintage Apollo Theatre footage of a "Rock 'n' Roll Revue" (1955). Duke Ellington, Dinah Washington, The Nat "King" Cole Trio, Lionel Hampton, Nipsey Russell, and Mantan Moreland are among the many stars. Twelve-disc set also includes "The Great Gabbo," "Check and Double Check," "The Duke Is Tops," "Reaching for the Moon," "King Kelly of the U.S.A.," "Palooka," "Sitting on the Moon," "Paradise in Harlem," "Second Chorus," "Stage Door Canteen," "People Are Funny," "Reet, Petite & Gone," "Rhythm and Blues Revue," "The Pied Piper of Hamelin," and 31 more. 66 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital stereo.
