Edward G. Robinson stars as a newspaper editor who caves into pressure from his publishers to increase circulation with sensationalized stories. His plan to dispatch a reporter to dig up dirt on a woman who murdered her lover years earlier sets in motion a series of events that ruins two families and results in a devastating tragedy. Marian Marsh, H.B. Warner, Anthony Bushell, Frances Starr, and Boris Karloff also star in this adaptation of Louis Weitzenkorn's stage play. 89 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
