Reckless and restless, young Cockney drifter Ernie Mott (Cary Grant) wastes his days wandering the streets of London, dabbling in crime and a relationship with a gangster's ex-wife. But when he learns that his mother (Ethel Barrymore) is terminally ill, Ernie immediately returns home, vowing to reform himself and his selfish ways once and for all. Barry Fitzgerald co-stars in director Clifford Odets' adaptation of Richard Llewellyn's novel. 113 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
