Moving drama set in a 1900s Welsh mining town, with Bette Davis as Miss Lilly Moffat, a recently arrived teacher who meets opposition when she tries to establish a school for the locals. John Dall co-stars as Moffat’s prize pupil, and Nigel Bruce is an antagonistic landowner.
