The friendship between the Knights of Columbus and the city of Rome has overcome every difficulty precisely because it was founded on the virtue of charity. As we reflect on these past 100 years in Rome we have sought after just such a heart that sees in the hope that in our service to the Holy Father and the people of Rome we have strengthened the fraternal bonds on our journey together as we step now into the next one hundred years. - Past Supreme Knight Carl Anderson For more than a century, the Knights of Columbus has had a strong relationship with the Eternal City. From Pope Benedict XV's plea to assist the youth of Rome in 1920, leading to the construction of sports centers throughout the city, to modern-day support of Vatican communications and restorations of sacred art, the Order has built bridges with both the Holy See and the people of Rome.
