A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man [Import]
(1977)
A thoughtful adaptation of James Joyce's semi-autobiographical novel about the irrepressible youth and austere homelife of Stephen Dedalus (Bosco Hogan), a student coming to terms with his strict Catholic upbringing in late-19th-century Dublin. Beautifully filmed in Ireland by director Joseph Strick ("Tropic of Cancer"), the striking drama co-stars T.P. McKenna, John Gielgud, and Rosaleen Linehan. 92 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby stereo; Subtitles: Korean. Region Free
