Aging artist Sal DeVito (J.J. Barry, who co-wrote) found his hoped fresh start from a move to Vermont go horribly wrong after his accidental vehicular homicide of a little girl. Stalked by the glaring presence of the child's embittered grandfather (William Robertson), are the misfortunes that start to plague Sal just manifestations of his own guilt...or are the old man's claims of having mystically cursed him uncannily true? The unnerving shocker "Dark August" (1976) co-stars Carolyne Barry, Karen Lewis-Attenborough, and Kim Hunter. Three-disc set also includes "Dream No Evil" and "The Child" (1977). 4 1/4 hrs. total. Standard and Widescreen; Soundtrack: English; audio commentary; featurettes; interviews; theatrical trailers; more.
