After convincing prison officials he’s nuts, mafia boss Paul Vitti (Robert De Niro) gets released into the custody of therapist Ben Sobel (Billy Crystal). Now a houseguest in Sobel's home, Vitti promises to go straight, accepting a job as a technical advisor on a "Sopranos"-style cable TV show. But Vitti's status as a law-abiding citizen is cut short when a power play by a rival mob diva (Cathy Moriarty-Gentile) forces him back into the life.
