On the run after killing her abusive stepfather in self-defense, a young woman (Louise Brooks) is taken under the wing of a good-hearted vagabond (Richard Arlen) who disguises her as a boy and teaches her the fine art of hopping freight trains. The pair's odyssey takes a dark turn when they run afoul of a veteran hobo leader (Wallace Beery), in this silent drama from director William Wellman, who covered similar ground in 1933's "Wild Boys of the Open Road." 83 min.
