Rowan Atkinson stars in this quirky British comedy series that focuses on several different periods of British history─the Middle Ages, the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, the late 18th/early 19th century, and World War I─as seen through the eyes of the scheming Edmund Blackadder and his descendants (all named Edmund and all played by Atkinson). Hugh Laurie, Tony Robinson, Miranda Richardson, Stephen Fry also star. Five-disc set includes "The Black Adder" (1983), "Blackadder II" (1986), "Black Adder the Third" (1987), and "Blackadder Goes Forth" (1989), as well as the specials "Blackadder's Christmas Carol" (1988), "Blackadder: The Cavalier Years" (1988), and "Blackadder Back & Forth" (1999). 12 2/3 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital stereo; documentary; featurettes; interviews.
