In D.C. to put a lawmaker or two in his pocket, junkyard magnate Harry Brock (Broderick Crawford) decided that uncultured arm candy Billie Dawn (Judy Holliday) was a social liability--so he hired worldly reporter Paul Verrall (William Holden) for some tutoring. With Paul's patient input, Billie blossoms...and, ultimately, so does romance. George Cukor directed Holliday's Oscar-winning reprisal of her Broadway role; Garson Kanin crafted an uncredited screen adaptation of his play. 102 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai; theatrical trailer; biographies.
