A rare glimpse of the French conductor is presented in this 1959 telecast, the only known recording of his performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Monteux conducts Brahms, Hindemith, and Stravinsky; he is reunited with the Stravinsky piece "Petrouchka," having been the conductor at the 1911 world premiere of the ballet in Paris. 82 min.
