Inspired by actual events, this involving thriller follows young FBI recruit Eric O'Neill (Ryan Phillippe) as he's tapped to spy on fellow agent Robert Hanssen (Chris Cooper). Told that Hanssen is under suspicion of sexual deviancy, O'Neill can find no evidence and begins to develop a great respect for him. It's not until he relays his doubts to his superiors that O'Neill learns that this seemingly dedicated patriot is wanted for selling U.S. secrets to the Russians.
