Some of Broadway's most memorable songs come from this musical comedy inspired by Elvis Presley's Army induction. When teen idol Conrad Birdie (Jesse Pearson) is drafted, a plan is set in motion to get him to sing a farewell tune penned by a struggling songwriter (Dick Van Dyke) on "The Ed Sullivan Show" where he will also give a devoted fan a goodbye kiss. With Janet Leigh, Ann-Margret, Bobby Rydell, Paul Lynde, and Sullivan as himself. Songs include "Kids," "Put on a Happy Face," "We Love You, Conrad." 112 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.0, Dolby Digital stereo Surround; Subtitles: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Thai; filmographies; theatrical trailer.
