He literally grew up in the British cinema of the 1920s and '30s; went behind the camera on that country's first Technicolor film, 1937's "Wings of the Morning"; won an Academy Award for his work on "Black Narcissus"; and went on to shoot such classic movies as "The Red Shoes," "The African Queen," "War and Peace," and "Fanny." Follow the nine-decade career of innovative cinematographer/director Jack Cardiff in this clip-filled documentary that includes comments by Kirk Douglas, Michael Powell, Martin Scorsese, and others. 90 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English; featurettes; interview; photo gallery; theatrical trailer.
