Suspected of shooting a lecherous neighbor, factory worker Anne (Thelma Todd) goes on the lam and winds up taking the place of her twin sister Elaine, a nightclub dancer, on the stage. Meanwhile, a newspaper reporter whose proposal Anne once spurned stops at nothing to find her. Ralf Harolde, Inez Courtney, and Mae Busch co-star in the sordid suspense drama "Cheating Blondes." Then, "Cheers of the Crowd" finds a theatrical press agent trying to save a Broadway show with a gimmick in which a man returns a bag of lost cash to the police.
