In pre-Revolutionary France, the callous Marquise de Merteuil (Glenn Close) promised her own favors to the serial seducer Vicomte de Valmont (John Malkovich) if he can make a conquest of the virtuous and married Madame de Tourvel (Michelle Pfeiffer). The aristocrats’ cruel carnal gamesmanship, however, may visit destruction upon them, as well as a pair of young lovers (Uma Thurman, Keanu Reeves) made pawns in their schemes, in Stephen Frears' gorgeous take on the oft-filmed Choderlos de Laclos tale. 120 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio, French Dolby Digital stereo, Spanish Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: English (SDH), French, Spanish; audio commentary; theatrical trailer.
