Dark Night Of The Scarecrow (1981)

Chilling terror telefilm stars Larry Drake as Bubba Ritter, a slow adult who befriends a young girl in his small Southern town. When the girl is viciously attacked and Bubba is wrongfully accused, he retreats to a cornfield masquerading as a scarecrow. Hunted down and killed by a narrow-minded mob, Bubba seems to be behind a force from beyond the grave that rains vengeance down upon his rash executioners. Charles Durning, Lane Smith, and Robert F. Having recently moved to a small rural town, single mom Chris Rhymer (Amber Wedding) entrusts seemingly sweet old lady Aunt Hildie (Carol Dines) with watching her son Jeremy (Aiden Shurr) while she works. But Aunt Hildie isn't as nice as she appears, as it turns out she's using Jeremy to breathe life into a murderous scarecrow and get it to do her evil bidding.
