Director Amos Gitai adapts Ya'ackov Shabatai's sprawling, single-sentence novel into the strikingly cinematic story of three Tel Aviv men who respectively must come to grips with womanizing, creative stagnation, and a lack of independence that threaten either to suffocate their lives entirely, or lead them to wild self-indulgences that might prove equally destructive. The first of Gitai's "City Trilogy" of films stars Gitai, Assi Dayan, and Amos Schub. AKA: "Zihron Devarim." 110 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: Hebrew; Subtitles: English. In Hebrew with English subtitles.
