After making incendiary remarks about mom Vivi (Ellen Burstyn) in a magazine interview, New York-based playwright Sidda Walker (Sandra Bullock) is "kidnapped" by her mother’s friends (Maggie Smith, Fionnula Flanagan, Shirley Knight) and taken back to her Louisiana homeland. The trio tells her about a secret club they formed in their youth and explain incidents in Vivi’s life in the hope of restoring the troubled mother-daughter relationship. Ashley Judd also stars in this compelling adaptation of Rebecca Wells’ bestseller. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English, French, Spanish; additional scenes; audio commentary by Judd, others; featurettes; theatrical trailer; more.
