The fifth installment in a six-part mystery series centering around beloved detective James Wong - and the last to feature the great Boris Karloff in the title role - Doomed to Die follows Won and a female reporter (Marjorie Reynolds) as they investigate the murder of a shipping magnate. A compelling whodunit featuring a characteristically charismatic performance from Karloff, this film features actual news footage from the burning of the liner SS Morro Castle, which caught fire in September 1934 during a trip from Havana to New York.
