Clara Bow really has "It" in this silent double feature. First, in "Parisian Love," she's a French thief who woos, then rips off, American tourists. When her lover is killed by a wealthy man, Bow joins forces with a band of crooks to get even by seducing and bilking the culprit. Donald Keith, Lillian Leighton also star. Then, in "Down to the Sea in Ships," Bow makes her film debut as a Quaker girl in a 19th-century whaling town. The whaling scenes were filmed on an actual expedition and have never been surpassed. Directed by Elmer Clifton, a protégé of D.W. Griffith. 157 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: music score. Silent with music score.
