Fandom and financial need brought young Tomas (Gösta Ekman) to take an archivist job for exiled German leftist thought leader Arthur Bauer (Lars Ekborg). However, both the new hire and his girlfriend (Agneta Ekmanner) soon find themselves pulled into the increasing demands and personal eccentricities of his boss and Bauer’s patently unstable wife (Adriana Asti) to devastating and often darkly comic effect, in essayist Susan Sontag’s film writing/directing bow. 105 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: Swedish; Subtitles: English; audio commentary; featurette; theatrical trailers. In Swedish with English subtitles.
