The Rundown (2003)
Slam-bang actioner stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Beck, a debt collector for an L.A. underworld figure, who’s sent to the Brazilian jungle to find and bring back his boss’s wayward son, Travis (Seann William Scott). Once there, Beck learns that Travis is in pursuit of a priceless golden idol, and they soon find themselves mixed up in a crazy adventure that involves a sleazy mine owner (Christopher Walken) and a beautiful rebel leader (Rosario Dawson). 105 min. San Andreas (2015)
In the tradition of the classic disaster epics of the 1970s comes this thrilling actioner that finds California being devastated by the most massive earthquakes ever seen. As the cities along the San Andreas Fault are ravaged, a Los Angeles fire department rescue pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife (Carla Gugino) must make their way to San Francisco in a desperate attempt to save their daughter (Alexandra Daddario). With Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, and Paul Giamatti. 107 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Central Intelligence (2016)
Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart make a hilariously mismatched pair in this fast-paced mix of action and comedy. When mild-mannered accountant Calvin Joyner (Hart) reconnects with old high school buddy Bob Stone (Johnson) on social media, he has no idea what he’s getting himself into. Turns out, Bob, once the target of relentless bullies, is now a buffed up CIA agent who drags Calvin along on a wacky mission to prevent a mysterious terrorist from selling stolen satellite codes. Amy Ryan, Aaron Paul also star. 107 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Rampage (2018)
Based on the classic building-demolishing video game series, this exciting sci-fi actioner stars Dwayne Johnson as Davis Okoye, a primatologist whose silverback gorilla pal George is infected by a strange mist that causes him to grow in size and become more aggressive. As George and two fellow mutated animals--red wolf Ralph and crocodile Lizzie--wreak havoc on Chicago, Davis and a disgraced geneticist (Naomie Harris) must try and stop the carnage. With Malin Akerman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. 107 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Skyscraper (2018)
Security expert Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson) probably won’t give the Hong Kong skyscraper the Pearl a glowing report when his wife (Neve Campbell) and kids become trapped on its upper floors after ruthless criminals torch the building. With local authorities believing he’s somehow involved, the die hard Sawyer must make his way up this towering inferno in an attempt to stop the bad guys and save his family. Nailbiting actioner co-stars Chin Han, Roland Møller, Noah Taylor. 103 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)
The Toretto crew’s former foes--federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and ex-UKSF Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham)--have to put aside their differences and pool their lethal talents to aid Shaw’s MI6 operative sister Hattie (Vanessa Kirby) in keeping a deadly biological agent from the clutches of cybernetically-enhanced renegade Brixton Lore (Idris Elba). Pulse-pounding franchise spin-off also stars Helen Mirren, Eiza González, Eddie Marsan, Cliff Curtis, Joe Anoa’i (aka Roman Reigns). 135 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
