Sumptuously filmed drama, based on a true story, focuses on the difficult relationship between Carlo Broschi--who gained renown in 18th-century Europe under the name Farinelli as a castrato singer--and his older brother Riccardo, a mediocre Baroque composer. Thanks to efforts by Frideric Handel, their love for the same woman, and questions about the singer's past, a bitter rivalry ensues. With Stefano Dionisi, Enrico Lo Verso, Elsa Zylberstein. 111 min. In French and Italian with English subtitles.
