Something Wild (1961)
In the aftermath of a sexual assault, unable to face her family about her trauma, Bronx college student Mary Ann Robinson (Carroll Baker) begins a withdrawal from the world. On the cusp of suicide, she’s stopped and given shelter by a gruff auto mechanic (Ralph Meeker)...but her apparent savior has an unsavory agenda of his own. Sylvia (1965)
Beautiful, brilliant, independently well-off poetess Sylvia West (Carroll Baker) seemed to be an ideal marriage prospect for older, wealthy millionaire Frederick Summers (Peter Lawford). Nagging doubts, however, had him sending private eye Alan Macklin (George Maharis) to dig into her shrouded past...and the investigator finds himself torn between his growing affection for his subject and the sordid details he uncovers. Powerful potboiler co-stars Viveca Lindfors, Ann Sothern, Edmond O'Brien, Joanne Dru. 115 min. BW/Rtg: NR
