A noted lawyer (Lionel Barrymore) does in the womanizer (Alan Mowbray) who’s about to run off with his daughter (Madge Evans)--and arranges for his victim’s ex (Kay Francis) to take the fall. "Guilty Hands" (1931) co-stars C. Aubrey Smith, Polly Moran. Guilt-wracked after finding he sent an innocent man to the chair, a DA (Warren William) turns to criminal defense...and finds no solace from his new, mobbed-up clientele. "The Mouthpiece" (1932) co-stars Sidney Fox, Aline MacMahon, J. Carrol Naish. In Paris, an exiled Russian noble (Gregory Ratoff) brainwashes a flower girl (Gwili Andre) in a bid to pass her off as Anastasia. "Secrets of the French Police" (1932) co-stars Frank Morgan, Rochelle Hudson. A calculating custodian (William) turns his family’s humble match business into a monopoly--and uses his new celebrity to launch a ruinous Ponzi scheme. "The Match King" (1932), inspired by the Ivar Krueger scandal, co-stars Lili Damita, Glenda Farrell. In the early ‘10s, a small-town woman (Barbara Stanwyck) is wooed and won by a visiting German academic (Otto Krueger), but the onset of WWI and a wave of prejudice might destroy all they’ve built. "Ever in My Heart" (1933) co-stars Ralph Bellamy, Ruth Donnelly. 6 hrs. total on five discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
