Tex Barton (Marshall Thompson) is an orphaned farmboy who is saddened when his beloved horse Bess dies while he's serving overseas during World War II. But when Tex saves a wounded mare on an island in the South Pacific, he forms a strong attachment to the horse, which he also names Bess. Their bond becomes unbreakable when Bess rescues Tex and his pals from a Japanese attack. George Tobias, Clem Bevans also star in this poignant drama inspired by a true story. 99 min.
