On the remote New Siberian Islands in the far north of Siberia, hunters search for tusks of extinct mammoths. There is a kind of gold rush fever in the air, because these tusks are extremely valuable. But the thawing permafrost reveals more than just precious ivory. One day, the hunters discover an almost perfectly preserved mammoth carcass. Such finds are magnets for high-tech Russian and South Korean clone researchers, whose mission could be part of a science-fiction plot. They want to bring the extinct woolly mammoth back to life- and that's just the beginning, and it may well turn our world upside-down. Herzog meets JURASSIC PARK in this real-life thriller that explores humanity s reckless courage and the dawning of a new and unprecedented era of scientific change.
