The Great Waltz
(1938)
The life of 19th-century Austrian composer Johan Strauss is chronicled in this lavish biography. The film follows "The Waltz King's" rise from orchestra leader to world-renowned musician, and explores his tumultuous romantic relationships with a banker's daughter and an opera singer.
