Frights and fun abound in a pair of Halloween-themed family adventures that originally aired on the Disney Channel. First, Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) is a 13-year-old girl who must use magical powers she never knew she had in order to save her mother (Judith Hoag) and grandmother (Debbie Reynolds), good witches held captive by Kalabar (Robin Thomas), the sinister warlock who runs the mystical realm known as "Halloweentown" (1998). Then, it's up to witch-in-training Marnie to retrieve her grandma's magic book from Kalabar's son (Daniel Kountz), who plans to use it to turn everyone in the world into evil monsters in "Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge" (2001).
