The Hound of the Baskervilles, the screen debut of Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, proved to be the ultimate Sherlockian adventure. Does the demonic dog that has haunted the Baskerville clan really exist, and will the young heir who comes to Holmes for help be the next victim? Classic mystery, loaded with Victorian flavor and English fog, also stars Richard Greene, Wendy Barrie, Lionel Atwill, and John Carradine. Then, a young prince must travel from London back to his homeland when his father is murdered, and Holmes and Watson accompany the boy monarch on a danger-filled ship voyage. Rathbone and Bruce star in "Pursuit to Algiers." 145 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English mono; audio commentary; photo gallery.
