Classic melodrama stars Cary Grant as Alec Walker, a wealthy man trapped in a loveless marriage to the greedy, social-climbing Maida (Kay Francis). Alec is eager to get a divorce and marry Julie (Carole Lombard), a beautiful widow and the woman he truly loves, but the vindictive Maida schemes to convince her in-laws (Charles Coburn, Nella Walker) that she's the perfect wife while painting Julie as a homewrecker. Helen Vinson co-stars. 94 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
