Ingagi (Forbidden Fruit: The Golden Age of the Exploitation Picture 8)
(1930)
Finally available on home video, this notorious, litigation-spurring pre-Code exploitation effort--marketed in its day as a documentary journey deep into the Congo, but predominantly shot on a Los Angeles lot with stock footage thrown in--followed a team of purported "British explorers" as they uncovered hoax creatures, and watched as barely-clad "tribeswomen" (including white actresses in blackface) were given over as sacrifices to "gorillas." Restored from Library of Congress prints. 75 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English; Subtitles: English (SDH); audio commentary; featurette; theatrical trailers.
