In Christopher Nolan's reworking of a 1997 Norwegian thriller, maverick L.A. detective Will Dormer (Al Pacino) and his partner Hap (Martin Donovan) investigate the murder of a teenage girl in a remote Alaskan village. Battling sleeplessness due to the region's 24-hour summertime sunlight and corruption allegations back in L.A., Dormer is enmeshed in a wicked cat-and-mouse game with a crime novelist (Robin Williams), the prime suspect. With Hilary Swank, Paul Dooley. 118 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English; Subtitles: English, French, Spanish; audio commentary; featurettes; deleted scene; interview; photo gallery; theatrical trailer.
