Michael Caine stars as Scotland Yard inspector Frederick Abberline, who was charged with the pressure-filled task of tracking down the elusive murderer Jack the Ripper in this made-for-TV take on the infamous true crimes. Purporting to have unprecedented access to the case, the film suggests an actual suspect to be the man who killed prostitutes and was never captured in 1888 East London. Jane Seymour and Armand Assante co-star. 188 min. on two discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
