Sensitive, true-life WWII drama finds U.S. journalist John Davis (Robert Young) and pregnant wife Nora (Laraine Day) faced with tragedy when she is injured and loses her baby in a London air raid. The Days’ dream of a family seems impossible, until John meets two British orphans (Margaret O'Brien, William Severn) and brings them back to America. Fay Bainter and Nigel Bruce also star in this classic weepie, the final effort from director W.S. Van Dyke. 81 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
