Phil Weston (Will Ferrell) is a good-natured suburban dad who could never quite live up to competitive, sports-minded father Buck’s (Robert Duvall) expectations. When Buck, who coaches the local kid’s soccer team, trades his own grandson to another squad, Phil decides to take over coaching duties for his son’s new team of misfit players in an attempt to prove himself to his pop once and for all.
