Chris Marker's unique short film "La Jetée," the inspiration for Terry Gilliam's "12 Monkeys," uses still images to tell the story of a post-atomic world where survivors live in underground vaults, and where one man's memory of a woman's face provides the key to a time-travel experiment. And, Marker filters his observations about cultural dislocation in Japan, Africa, and Iceland through letters, quotes, and the lens of a fictional, emotionless cameraman, in "Sans Soleil." 130 min. total. Widescreen; Soundtracks: French Dolby Digital mono, English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English (SDH); featurette; interviews; more. In French with English subtitles/Dubbed in English.
