This subtly satiric, yet sometimes touching, examination of faith, desire, and religion stars Sylvie Testud as Christine, a woman suffering from multiple sclerosis who has been confined to a wheelchair for most of her life. To break up the monotony of her existence, she makes a pilgrimage to Lourdes, the Virgin Mary's alleged healing spot, only to experience a spiritual journey while struggling with skeptics, her feelings of envy, and a belief in a miracle. Léa Seydoux co-stars. 96 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: French; Subtitles: English; interviews; theatrical trailers. In French with English subtitles.
