When Adam, a young professor, accepts his first big teaching position at a respected university, he and his beautiful, pregnant wife, Lisa, move into a country house just outside of town. But soon after the happy couple settles in, Lisa suffers a miscarriage under mysterious circumstances and becomes convinced that some "unnatural force" caused her to lose the baby.
