Margaret Lindsay, Glenda Farrell, and Ruth Donnelly are the "Merry Wives of Reno," three gals who head to the Biggest Little City in the World to end their respective marriages. Trouble arises when all three husbands (and a pet sheep) show up, leading to a series of hilarious misunderstandings. Guy Kibbee, Frank McHugh, Donald Woods, Hugh Herbert also star in this saucy comedy. And, a just barely pre-Code comedy, "Smarty" stars Joan Blondell as a shrill of a woman who leaves her husband (after receiving a decidedly un-PC slap in the face) and marries her divorce attorney, only to realize she wants to rekindle the flame of her first marriage. With Warren William, Edward Everett Horton. 128 min. total on two discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; theatrical trailer.
