After three crew members die during an expedition to Mars, a rescue mission, led by Woody Blake (Tim Robbins) and Jim McConnell (Gary Sinise), and including Blake's wife (Connie Nielsen) and a technician (Jerry O’Connell), is sent out to investigate.
