A rancher couple has been slain, and their infant child targeted for kidnap by owlhoots. Jimmy Wakely, "Dusty" James, and "Lasses" White ride to uncover the sinister reason why, in "Riding the Dusty Trail" (1945). AKA: "Riders of the Dawn." Wakely, James, and White chip in to buy a ghost town, but when "Lasses" sells a controlling interest to crooked speculators, it's time to hit the "Lonesome Trail" (1945). When corrupt privatized lawmen start extorting ranchers in post-Civil War Texas, former Rangers Wakely and Dub Taylor go back to dispensing justice, in "The Rangers Ride" (1948). Wakely and Taylor try to hogtie the "Range Renegades" (1948) preying on a mine owner's shipments. Jennifer Holt co-stars. Jimmy and Dub try to defuse simmering tensions between settlers and native Californians in "Silver Trails" (1948). Whip Wilson (in his screen debut) co-stars. Wakely and Taylor ride to the aid of a lawman being blackmailed over his hidden past in "Brand of Fear" (1949). Gail Davis co-stars. 5 1/12 hrs. total on two discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
