High-flying costume comedy "Monsieur Beaucaire" finds Bob Hope as a barber in the court of Louis XV who is saved from the guillotine by posing as a French nobleman. With Joan Caulfield, Patric Knowles, Marjorie Reynolds and Joseph Schildkraut. Next, in "Where There's Life," New York disc jockey Hope is talked into believing he's the king of Barovia, a country whose monarch has just been assassinated by revolutionaries. Joined by the kingdom's female general, Bob is pursued throughout the Big Apple by rebels and his fiancée's policeman brother. Signe Hasso, William Bendix and George Coulouris also star. 168 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: French, Spanish; biographies; theatrical trailer.
