First, "A Man Called Sledge" (1970) is a rousing western starring James Garner as Sledge, a grizzled outlaw who gets himself put in prison in order to gain access to a shipment of gold stored there. Sledge and his gang pull the job off but he soon finds himself at odds with his cohorts when he wins the lion's share of the loot in a poker game. Dennis Weaver, Claude Akins, John Marley, and Laura Antonelli co-star in this colorful actioner. And, "The Mountain Men" (1980) is a sweeping, funny, violent adventure set in the harsh American wilderness of the 1830s. Charlton Heston and Brian Keith star as trappers who run afoul of Blackfoot Indian warriors while looking for a valley believed to be home to large beaver population. With Victoria Racimo, Stephen Macht, Seymour Cassell. Two-disc set also includes "The Man from Laramie" and "Mackenna's Gold." 7 hrs. total. Standard/Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English.
