The first of the humor-leavened Agatha Christie adaptations casting Margaret Rutherford as Miss Jane Marple series finds the septuagenarian sleuth witnessing the strangling of a woman on a passing train. Concluding that the corpse had been ejected onto local manor grounds, she gets hired as a maid to search for the body...and finds that one resident’s murderously jockeying for the entirety of her employer’s will. Arthur Kennedy, Muriel Pavlow, James Robertson Justice, Joan Hickson co-star. 87 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English, French, Spanish.
