Los Angeles, 1977: As he digs into the alleged reappearance of a recently deceased porn star, inept PI Holland March (Ryan Gosling) winds up on the trail of a young runaway (Margaret Qualley)...and on the bad side of aging legbreaker Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe), who she retained to keep pursuers off her scent.
