Jailed for a crime he didn't commit, singer Larry Poole (Bing Crosby) is asked by a convicted killer on death row to help out his victim's family after he's freed. When Larry is released, he meets the family─a young girl and her grandfather─and helps them turn a supposedly haunted house into a hip cafe.
